London – Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, very careful in making decisions related to his attacker, Diego Costa. If Chelsea can lock the title this weekend, Mourinho will let Costa rest until the end of the season.
Costa missed the last four games that lived Chelsea. The Spanish international striker getting a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Stoke City, April 4.
Without Costa, Chelsea still able to achieve positive results. The Blues won three times and drawn once. The only thing they can draw in the game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Positive results that make Chelsea are now on the verge of a champion. They would lock the title if it can beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (05/03/2015).
Game against Palace also will determine whether Costa to play again this season or not. If Chelsea win and the championship this weekend, Costa probably will spend the rest of the season to recover. But, if not, he may be involved in the next game against Liverpool (10/5).
“Because the results of last month, a few wins and a draw against the second ranked team (Arsenal), we do not need to rush to play it. We will try to give maximum stability,” said Mourinho.
“There is a chance he might not play again,” he said.
“If we win on Sunday tomorrow, I would say that he will not play against Liverpool. If we do not win on Sunday tomorrow and we need points then he will play against Liverpool,” said Mourinho.
“Everything depends on the results and needs. If we do not need, he would not play again. We are currently preparing for her good work situations during the holiday period,” he said.
Costa fairly frequent injury plagued this season. Nevertheless, he is capable of scoring 19 goals in 24 Premier League matches.
