Sterling Confirms He's not mercenary Players

Liverpool – In the midst of speculation about his future at Liverpool, Raheem Sterling said he was not mercenary. He just did not want to rush to sign a new contract.

Sterling reportedly been offered a salary of 100 thousand pounds per week by Liverpool in a new agreement. But so far there has not been an agreement between the two camps.

Even so the England international insists money is not the deciding factor in the decision while the new states are willing to discuss about a new contract end of the season.

“It was not about the money. It’s never about the money. I’m talking about winning trophies in my career. That’s what I’m talking about,” Sterling said as quoted by Reuters.

“I do not talk about how many cars would I drive, how many houses I’ve had. I really just want to be as good as I can.”

“I do not want to be considered as a youth 20 years mercenary. I just want to be seen as someone who likes to play football and do the best for the team,” he said.

Sterling also claimed actually will sign a new contract with Liverpool if submitted on offer from the club last year. But for now, the time is not yet right he calls
