Rome – Coming to the end of the winter transfer window, AS Roma bring two attackers at once, Seydou Doumbia and Victor Ibarbo. Roma denied if the transfer is done in a panic.
Rome confirm the transfer Doumbia from CSKA Moscow shortly after the release of Mattia Destro to AC Milan. Ivory Coast striker was contracted Giallorossi until June 2019.
After recruiting Doumbia, Rome also bring Ibarbo of Cagliari. The 24-year-old striker was signed on loan until the end of the season with an option for mempermanenkan.
Roma denied if the transfer was based on panic. I Lupi asserted that the decision to recruit and Ibarbo Doumbia has gone through a long process.
“Every player we bought through a long process of observation,” said Director General of Rome Mauro Baldissoni to Rome Radio.
“Seydou Doumbia we have observed for at least three years and had a talk with CSKA Moscow several times to try to bring it.”
“The statistics speak and he will do the same in Rome, I believe it,” said Baldissoni.
“There are a lot of players that we observed and when the conditions are right, we made a movement. The deal Ibarbo done within a few days,” he added.
Doumbia appeared in 129 games over five years in uniform CSKA and accounted for 84 touchdowns. While it has been three and a half seasons Ibarbo take part in Serie A and packing 14 goals.
