MADRID – Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti revealed midfielder James Rodriguez has a calf injury, the Primera Division match against Celsta Vigo, at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday (12/06/2014). According to Ancelotti, because of the injury, James likely could not perform at the Club World Cup 2014 Morocco.
Against Celta Vigo, James played as a starter. In the 52nd minute, James injured so replaced Alvaro Arbeloa.
“I think James will not be able to play. An injury to the calf requires a rather long recovery time. It’s hard to imagine he could recover in time (when the World Cup),” said Ancelotti.
Club World Cup will be held from December 10 until December 20, 2014. Madrid will immediately appear in the semi-finals, which is against Cruz Azul or Sydney Wanderers, in Rabat, on December 16, 2014.
Regarding the game against Celta Vigo, Madrid won 3-0. All the goals scored by Cristiano Ronaldo (36 penalties, 65, 81). It was a hat-trick to–23 Ronaldo during play at Real Madrid.
The third goal Ronaldo‘s goal to Celta Vigo is the goal of his 201 to Madrid. He was a player who scored 200 goals in the shortest time in the history of La Liga (178 matches).
For Madrid, with a win over Celta Vigo, they have recorded 18 wins in a row, the same as that recorded Barcelona in the 2005-2006 season under coach Franck Rijkaard. By doing so, coach Carlo Ancelotti will break the record Rijkaard, if Madrid win the Champions League match against Ludogorets, at the Santiago Bernabeu on December 9, 2014.
