Southampton – Ahead of a meeting with Arsenal, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman a little ‘heat up’ the atmosphere. Koeman believes that a team like the Gunners should join the competition title.
Arsenal so far still stuck in seventh in the Premier League standings with a value of 20 of the 13 games. While Soton is in third place with six points more.
Comparing the history and resources of both, this position is certainly a little beyond expectations. You could say, considering Arsenal since the 1996-1997 season never fails to finish in the top four while new Soton last two season promotion to the Premier League, both in the switched position so far.
So if the Saints get a positive appreciation and praise related performance so far, Arsenal just under pressure and get criticism. New collected five wins so far, north London children assessed duly could perform better.
Koeman not miss to provide an assessment ahead of the match at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday (12/04/2014) pm dawn. The Dutch manager admitted Wenger had been providing great success for Arsenal, but to pace this season he believes should be more okay.
“I have great respect for Wenger. I respect him because he has been in the management of the club and at Arsenal for a long time,” said Koeman told the Mirror.
“He has done a fantastic job, but a team like Arsenal should compete for the title, and there will always be criticism if they do not happen,” he added.
However, Koeman also believe that as the season goes Wenger will be able to improve the performance. Great experience plus a positive track record for 17 years at Arsenal so a proof that can not be circumvented.
“He is much more experienced in management than me and he will cope with the situation without any problems at all,” the 51-year man.
