Liverpool – Liverpool assessed need to work very hard in order to finish in the Champions League again. Because, for now they are considered to play like a mid-table teams.
The assessment is expressed by the former Liverpool player, John Aldridge. Aldridge criticized the performance of the Reds were not convincing lately. According to him, Liverpool have a fragile back line and the front line is blunt.
In the 17 games that they live in all competitions this season, Liverpool only twice recorded a clean sheet and have conceded 24 goals. For business to make a goal, Liverpool had scored 20 goals.
That is quite alarming is the fact that three Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert ie, Fabio Borini, and Mario Balotelli, has not scored a goal in the Premier League. Liverpool productivity declined sharply since they left Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge injury.
If Liverpool keep this up, Aldridge confident his former club will be difficult to finish in the top four zones. Currently Liverpool scattered in the 11th position of the standings with 14 points, left behind 15 points from Chelsea, who are in the top position.
“At this time we were really difficult. Needless to say, we were playing like a mid-table team. So, a lot of work to do,” said Aldridge told Sky Sports News HQ.
“We have to qualify for the Champions League again this year and continue to build a team for the best players always want to play in the Champions League,” he continued.
“For the short term, we should be able to play Daniel Sturridge again, to restore confidence in the team. In matters of defense, team confidence is so low and in attack we did not score many goals,” said Aldridge.
“We have three attackers who have not scored a single goal in the league, that Balotelli, Borini, and Lambert. The goals will make you win the game and give the points to you,” said the Liverpool striker in the 1987-1989 period.
