Romelu Lukaku creates great record after Everton officially purchased. Priced worth 28 million pounds, or around Rp 554 billion (pound sterling = Rp 19,811) to make the Belgian bomber the most expensive player in the history of Everton.
Lukaku broke the record previously held midfielder Marouane Fellaini (now playing at Manchester United) when imported from Standard Liege in the summer 2008. At that time, Fellaini redeemed with a dowry of 15 million pounds, or around Rp 297 billion.
“We know, Lukaku is still a young player. However, its potential is very unique. We can not wait to see him develop as a footballer in the years to come, “said the Everton manager, Roberto Martinez at the BBC page, Thursday (31/7).
Lukaku is known as a goal-hungry striker. Last season, he was offered 15 goals in 31 Premier League matches. The season before, he was also able to score 17 goals in 35 games with West Bromwic Albion.
However, it was not making records Chelsea keen to enter it into the first team. That is evidenced by the decision to bring Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Diego Costa. (jos / JPNN)
